TIZIANO TRINCI AND HIS HOLLE CROPPERS Tiziano Trinci lives in Pistoia,
Italia. He has been breeding fancy pigeons for almost 20 years. One day he bought
a beautifully illustrated book on pigeon breeds written by Andrew McNeillie. On the cover there was a beautiful blue-pied Holle Cropper - it was love at first sight! By :

CHICKEN RUN Leghorn bantams at Rick Roelfsema
and Geert van der Velde Rick Roelfsema lives in Leek in the
north-eastern Netherlands, a region that I had previously visited when
doing an interview for the printed magazine Avicultura; one of the
many extraordinary meetings with inspired breeders, in those days,
that I had written in the hope to awaken interest in the beautiful purebred
chickens. And maybe I succeeded? By

VISITING BENNO CREZEE On one of the first sunny Saturdays in the Summer
of 2015 I visited Benno Crezee. Benno is one of

FADED GLORY Maybe you have experienced this lately: Your club
was a wonderful club, full of enthusiastic people, crowded club meetings
and great shows, but suddenly it was finished. What remains is nostalgia,
even after years one still talks about it. By :

STRINGY FEATHERS? PAY ATTENTION! Our beautiful highly inbred breed is permanently
threatened by the misery of the stringy feathering. Many Red breeders do
not realize this, but when disaster strikes in the form of stringy feathering,
it is a huge challenge to definitively get rid of it again. By : Rem Koster, RIR Club

The Nun - becoming increasingly globalised, and how do we deal with that? In the Netherlands the Nun is a ‘traditional’ pigeon.
It was at the beginning of last century and under the influence of key
men of that time, the Nuns had their greatest popularity. In the early
literature and in old articles it is stated that the Nun is of Dutch
origin. By :

THE FLEMISH CUCKOO Part 3 A report on my long search for the origins of the
Cuckoo chickens and in particular the Flemish Cuckoo. Is the Flemish cuckoo the same as the Coucou de Flandres,
bred and exhibited for the first time by Mr Labbe
in France, in 1880? By :

NATIONAL AGRARICULTURAL SHOW IN AFRICA An Agricultural Show in Africa? Aren’t they keeping
livestock there for utility purposes only? On average that is true; the breeding
of pedigree stock according to an ideal standard and looks is confined
to countries that can afford this luxury. By : Hans Ringnalda (Kenya) 9 pages - 1 MB |

CONCERNING POULTRY Feeding extra protein to your moulting chickens? In the Northern Hemisphere, at this time of the
year, many chickens are moulting. No wonder, egg-laying will slow down or
stop completely. Feathers are more easily grown when laying ceases, because
of the bird’s difficulty in assimilating sufficient protein for both
egg and feather production. By : Elly Vogelaar (NL) 8 pages - 1.8 MB |

MY VISIT TO THE USA NATIONAL SHOW 2015 I must congratulate the LAPC for an outstanding
venue and a smoothly-run event that went off like clockwork. The pigeons
that had been entered were close to 8,000 and as Bob Nolan had promised -
it was big: this was the second largest fancy pigeon show in US history. By : Fadiel Hendricks, (South Africa) 5 pages - 475 kB |
