A visit at René Burns in Laren (NL). René most of all prefers to see a pigeon fly, so he
was looking for a breed with what he could compete at the shows, but would
give him pleasure as well in the loft during the rest of the year. Lammert Lindenberg, fellow
citizen and pigeon fancier, introduced him to two of the Spanish Cropper
breeds: the Gaditano Cropper and Colillano Cropper. Later he also purchased Gelderse Slenk; all three
breeds suit his idea of the perfect show bird and flying pigeon. By : Nico van Benten 9 pages - 510 KB |

Englishman William Cook created this all-round breed. And we can say that the
Orpington is here to stay. With their nearly square shaped heavy body and the
fluffy plumage they still do impress people. By : Elly Vogelaar 10 pages - 800 KB |

CONCERNING POULTRY. Crop problems. A crop problem can indicate many underlying
conditions or it may be in and of itself a primary problem... it is often
difficult to know exactly what has caused it.
Still crop problems do not necessarily mean a death sentence to your
birds when they are dealt with in the correct manner and in a timely
fashion. By : Monique de Vrijer 7 pages - 350 KB |

Keeping Fancy Pigeons. Part 5. There has been a fair bit written about the do's and
don'ts of how to keep Pigeons. This is just some practical advice from what
I have learnt over the last 50 years. It’s not scientific, it’s not 'by the
book' but it works! In Part 5: Health. By : Mick Bassett 8 pages - 265KB |
